The Nazis purged disloyal civil servants under the 1933 “Law for the Restoration of the Professional Civil Service.” Trump promises to use “Schedule F” to purge the “deep state” on day one. The far-right frequently seeks the power to fire in the name of reform, but the goal—said out loud—is to replace independent officials with party loyalists who will work to destroy democracy from the inside.
